San Antonio Riverwalk

There are many ways to get around San Antonio—car, bus, taxi, bike, scooter, or your own two feet! Stroll along the River Walk, hop on a VIA Metropolitan Transit bus, rent a bike or e-scooter, or take a historic river barge taxi for a scenic ride through downtown. Flying? You're going to love San Antonio International Airport (SAT) as it’s the primary gateway to the heart of Texas, just a short drive from downtown and the famous River Walk. Or fly into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), about 80 miles north, for a scenic Texas road trip to San Antonio. No matter how you land, San Antonio is ready to welcome you with its rich history, vibrant culture, and world-class attractions.

Prefer the Rails? Head to San Antonio’s Amtrak Station, located at 350 Hoefgen Ave, which provides rail service for commuters, visitors, and leisure travelers. The station serves the Texas Eagle route, connecting San Antonio to major cities like Austin, Dallas, and Chicago. Conveniently located near Sunset Station and just minutes from the Alamo and the River Walk, it’s a great way to arrive in the city.

The Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk will serve as GSA’s headquarters hotel. All hotels provide easy access to the Henry B. González Convention Center.

ALERT: The official GSA housing bureau is Orchid Events. To receive the GSA group rate at each hotel, reservations must be made through Orchid and not directly with the hotels. GSA and Orchid will NOT contact attendees directly to solicit new reservations. If you are contacted by a vendor who claims to represent GSA, please notify the GSA Meetings Department at meetings@geosociety.org. Please do not make hotel arrangements or share any personal information through any means other than a trusted, reliable source.

Critical Dates

  • 19 September: The last day to cancel rooms without a penalty.
  • 24 September: Reservations must be received by this date in order to guarantee rooms at special meeting rates.
  • 10 October: All changes, cancellations, and name substitutions must be finalized through Orchid Events.
  • After 11 October: You must contact the hotel directly with any changes or for new reservations.

Parking

There are multiple parking options near the Henry B. González Convention Center, including the nearby Grand Hyatt garage and various public lots. Rates and availability may vary, so we recommend planning ahead to ensure a smooth parking experience during GSA Connects 2025.

Valet parking is available at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio Riverwalk Hotel for added convenience. Nearby self-parking options are also available.

Special Requests

Please contact Orchid.Events at +1-800-521-7845 or email at help@orchid.events if you have special requests and/or if you need to book a hotel suite. Requests are not guaranteed, and hotels will assign specific room types based on availability upon arrival.

Reservation Confirmation Acknowledgments

Orchid.Events will provide reservation acknowledgements via email within 24 hours when you book your reservation online or by phone ~ fax and mail reservation acknowledgements will be sent within 72 hours of receipt. If you do not receive your acknowledgement in this time frame, contact Orchid.Events. You will not receive written confirmation from the hotel.

Deposits, Cancellations, and Changes

All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card equaling the amount of one night’s room and tax for each room reserved. Reservations cancelled on or after 19 September 2025 will be subject to a $25 USD fee for each room cancelled. Cancellations made after 20 September 2025 will be subject to the hotel's cancellation policy. Failure to cancel a reservation 72 hours prior to arrival date will result in a one night’s room and tax non-refundable room charge posted to the credit card on file. Through 10 October 2025, please send changes and/or cancellations to Orchid.Events via email at help@orchid.events or in writing by fax to +1-801-355-0250. After 11 October 2025 contact hotels directly to make changes and cancellations.
